There are many roamers in those ancient towns along the Tea-horse Road that leads to Tibet. Shuhe Town of Lijiang is one of those important settlements for them.

Only 20 meters away from the origin of the famous pass between Yunnan and Tibet, there is a building with yard in a Shuhe street full of bars and inns. In my two visits to Shuhe, I stayed in the building where I listened to music and killed time by looking at the creek flowing outside my window. It is also where I got to know one of the so-called roamers in Shuhe Town.

Red T.art has been designed to create public awareness for exciting and refreshing contemporary Chinese artists through our branded events, corporate services and exhibitions. We operate from our Beijing based gallery and office space in the trendy 798 art district of Beijing.

When I happened to see artworks of Zhang Hongchun on an art show, I was much surprised by her calligraphy among other works of make artists for the feminine beauty and serenity in her pieces of exhibition. After I got acquainted with her, she sent me a piece of silk on which she handwrote verses of Li Yu, the famous poet. I think the ancient poem on silk best reveals her personality and aesthetic aptitude. Her calligraphy is outstanding with freshness and vividness. I framed the silk and hanged in my bedroom. In current circle of art, there are many works tagged with high price but without serenity but rudeness and self-promotion which are hardly worth being on my living room, not to mention my bedroom.

For over a decade the Beijing and Swiss based Galerie Urs Meile (founded in 1992) has been promoting contemporary art of high quality. The programme covers most recent developments in the production of Chinese art and represents recognized and emerging artists from China and Europe.
